Education consists of:
- Twice monthly Home birth group meetings
- A late pregnancy and labor class given by Marinah specific to her practice and home birth
- Assisting new parents to find a qualified childbirth education program to be better prepared for labor.
- Education at each prenatal visit in some form – baby position, exercise, body mechanics, nutrition, to name a few things we will discuss.
- Midwifery student classes.
- Political action group meetings for parents interested in better birth options.
What you should know:
- The home birth group is a way to meet new friends, feel a sense of community among other home birth families, and a learning opportunity. “I love to see my families come to the circles and learn from the wisdom of the other mothers as well as to grow as parents.”
- Marinah always is training and working with advanced midwifery students as well as beginning students. “Apprenticeship is the art of midwifery. If all midwives would teach students, and all families welcome them, than future generations will have access to midwifery care.”
- Birth is political. “Birthing at home is a big political statement about freedom and beliefs and women. I believe we should all rally to create more birth choices for women.”
