Newborn Care includes:

  • Baby will go to mom immediately after birth and there will be no rush for newborn procedure if not necessary.
  • Full training in newborn emergency procedures if necessary.
  • The immediate postpartum period will be for bonding and family time.
  • Neonatal examination - complete physical exam within 2 hours of birth
  • Gestational age assessment and complete newborn exam
  • Newborn administrations of medications if parents choose.
  • The baby will be fully assessed at each post-birth visit.
  • Guided referrals and relationships with various holistic pediatric healthcare providers if needed.

 

What you need to know

  • The immediate time after birth the family will be given a lot of time to get to know the baby. “I believe that bonding should be an uninterrupted time of transition for the whole family.”
  • All baby care and assessments are done right next to mom. “I honor that this is your baby and you will not want baby to be far away after birth.”
